J.S. Sarma, chairman, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has said the regulator will send its proposals pertaining to 4G technology to the government by June 2011, according to news reports.

Sarma added that TRAI has floated a pre-consultation paper on 4G and is likely to frame a consultation paper in a month’s time. He also said that he expects operators to start offering 4G services in 2012.
