Having re-launched its operations in four circles, Videocon Telecom has grown its subscriber base to 4.9 million over a period of nine months. In the month of September 2013, the operator added 421,000 new subscribers witnessing a growth rate of 9.5 per cent over August 2013.
The operator is also leading the market in Haryana and Punjab circles for the last five and two months, respectively. Videocon Telecom has also benefited from customers migrating to its network by availing number portability policy.
Going forward, the operator is planning to expand its reach beyond eight circles, where it currently offers telecom services. Following, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India?s decision to reduce reserve price for the forthcoming spectrum auction by 60 per cent, Videocon Telecom plans to bid for spectrum in the Delhi circle.
