Vodafone Idea (Vi) has rolled out voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) calling service for pre-paid and post-paid customers in Punjab circle. The service is now available for Vi customers in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala, Bhatinda, amongst others.
Vi VoWiFi calling service provides seamless and extended indoor coverage on all broadband networks. It also ensures superior call quality with no call drops when connected to a Wi-Fi.
Vi pre-paid and post-paid customers in Punjab circle can now undertake VoWiFi calling at no extra charge.
VoWiFi calling service can be activated on the smartphone without incurring any cost. Users need to check if their smartphone supports Wi-Fi calling. Customers with Vi 4G SIM with active VoLTE calling service can get on to a Wi-Fi network, and switch on Wi-Fi calling on the device to experience seamless calling service.
Vi VoWiFi calling service is currently available in Delhi and NCR, Gujarat, Mumbai, Maharashtra and Goa, Rajasthan, UP and West Bengal. Vi aims at extending VoWiFi to more locations over the coming months.
