As per industry sources, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has written to the heads of its telecom circles to identify sites and related materials for the installation of 4G nodes.
To this end, the circle heads have been reportedly asked to submit the details to BSNL headquarters by December 15, 2021, so that timely action can be taken, considering that the trials will be completed by December 31, 2021.
Earlier, BSNL was expected to conclude the trials by October 31, 2021.
BSNL has given a September 2022 timeline for a pan-India rollout of 4G services, with an estimated incremental revenue of Rs 9 billion in the first year of rollout, with no proposal under consideration currently for the disinvestment of BSNL and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL).
