V. Umashankar joins MTNL?s board as government director

The government has appointed V. Umashankar, joint secretary, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), as its representative on the board of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL).

Umashankar was appointed the joint secretary, DoT last month. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Singh, director, technical, MTNL, has resigned from the board following his appointment as member, Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal.
