UST Global has launched a mobile application for women’s safety. The application ?iSafe? has been introduced in partnership with the Thiruvananthapuram City Police.

Through the application, women can send instant alerts to the police control room in times of distress. The police control room receives the alert along with the location details of the sender, the subscriber ID and the international mobile station equipment identity number of the mobile. Following an alert from an iSafe user, the police can immediately extend help to the needy through the nearest control room vehicle (CRV). The application allows the police to track exact position of the individual who has sought help through connected devices both at the control room and CRV where police personnel are armed with tablets.

The iSafe application is currently available for mobile phones running on Android operating system. Going forward, UST Global will extend the application on other mobile phone platforms as well. The company will also make iSafe application available to women outside Thiruvananthapuram through tie-ups with other state police forces.

Commenting on the launch of the application, Alexander Varghese, chief administrative officer and country head, UST Global said, ?We believe that innovation and technology can go a long way in bringing sustainable transformations to communities. Our Code for Humanity initiative is aligned to creating an environment that encourages use of technology by citizens to improve their overall living conditions and access to primary public services. As we continue to innovatively disrupt this ecosystem, UST Global gifts women in our country the new, safety-feature application that would make their travel in the city safer and easier.?
