
Lava International plans to double its budget for setting up a manufacturing factory in India to Rs 12 billion. The investment will be spread out over a period of three years. The company is in talks with the state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh for setting-up a manufacturing facility in the country. Further, the smartphone maker also plans to double its workforce in the country by adding about 7,000 employees in 2015-16. At present, Lava International employs 6,500 personnel. Going forward, the company also plans to diversify its product portfolio beyond mobile phones and manufacture connected devices such as Smart TVs and wearable watches.
