Uninor to deploy 5,000 additional network sites in its six circles

Uninor plans to deploy an additional 5,000 tower sites in six circles over the next five months.

Following this expansion, the operator would have about 24,000 sites deployed across Uttar Pradesh (West), Uttar Pradesh (East), Bihar (including Jharkhand), Maharashtra and Goa, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat circles. The additional tower sites will help Uninor provide services to another 50 million users in the six circles.

Commenting on the network expansion plan, Morten Karlsen Sorby, chief executive officer, Uninor, says, ?With this expansion Uninor will now extend its ?Sabse Sasta? services to millions of new subscribers in its six circles even as we strengthen our network in the regions we already cover.?

He further adds, ?Achieving profitability in record time shows that Uninor can continue to keep its most affordable tariffs position in the market while offering a profitable business proposition to its distributors and retailers and expanding its network coverage.?
