The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has accused the defence ministry of delaying the release of 2G and 3G spectrum.
The standoff comes after the defence ministry told DoT that the Air Force would vacate spectrum only when alternative networks were put in place for the Army and the Navy. DoT had earlier demanded that spectrum should be vacated in a phased manner and had also indicated that since an alternative network for the Air Force would be completed by December 2007, it should vacate the radio frequencies by the end of 2007.
