The contract signed between Samsung Electronics and Sprint Nextel in August 2006, under which Samsung was to build Sprint’s WiMax network in Philadelphia, Boston, Richmond and Washington, DC has been extended to include New York as well.

The contract signed between Samsung Electronics and Sprint Nextel in August 2006, under which Samsung was to build Sprint’s WiMax network in Philadelphia, Boston, Richmond and Washington, DC has been extended to include New York as well. Sprint’s total WiMax network will cover about 100 million subscribers by the end of 2008, and 170 million by 2010.
