The communications minister has ruled out unbundling of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited’s fixed lines

The communications minister has ruled out unbundling of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited’s (MTNL) fixed lines to provide broadband access to private telecom players. The latter have been demanding this in order to make their services more affordable. The two public sector companies have a relatively wider network than the private telecom companies.
