The government has rejected TRAI’s proposal for a converged regulatory regime, which favours revival of the Convergence Bill, 2001. Instead, the information and broadcasting ministry is planning to set up a separate regulator, titled Broadcasting Regulatory Authority of India (BRAI), to manage all broadcast-related issues ?? carriage, content and commercial.
