The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has cleared the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) decision to disqualify Nokia Siemens Network (NSN) while selecting vendors for its 93 million GSM line contract. CVC had formed an independent panel following NSN’s appeal to investigate its disqualification. NSN had approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as well as the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The Andhra Pradesh High Court had imposed a stay in the tendering process for the southern region. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had, however, dismissed NSN’s petition asking it to approach the courts only if it was not satisfied with the CVC’s investigation in the matter.
