• As per Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data, telecom operators generated gross revenues of Rs 494.55 billion during the quarter ended June 2020. This included unified access service licence (UASL), unified licence (UL), and mobile + basic licence holders.
  • Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited reported the highest gross revenue of Rs 179.97 billion followed by Bharti Airtel (Rs 156.62 billion), Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) (Rs 123.05 billion), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) (Rs 24.03 billion) and Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) (Rs 6.36 billion).
  • Circle-wise, Maharashtra emerged as the highest revenue grosser with Rs 41.02 billion. It was followed by Andhra Pradesh (Rs 37.91 billion), Uttar Pradesh-East (Rs 36.64 billion), Tamil Nadu and Chennai (Rs 35.7 billion) and Bihar (Rs 33.23 billion).
  • The least revenue generating telecom circles were Himachal Pradesh (Rs 3.82 billion), Jammu & Kashmir (Rs 4.48 billion), Northeast (Rs 5.18 billion), Assam (Rs 9.62 billion) and Kolkata (Rs 10.43 billion).

 

 

  • As per TRAI data, companies operating in the national long distance (NLD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 99.77 billion during the quarter ended June 2020.
  • With Rs 34.76 billion, Bharti Airtel accounted for 34.84 per cent of the total industry NLD revenues. It was followed by VIL (Rs 31.44 billion), Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Rs 11.33 billion), BSNL (Rs 9.08 billion) and Tata Communications (Rs 6.54 billion).
  • Meanwhile, companies operating in the international long distance (ILD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 33.36 billion during the quarter under consideration.
  • Bharti Airtel recorded the highest gross revenue in the ILD segment at Rs 14.79 billion. It was followed by VIL (Rs 6.24 billion), AT&T Global Network Services India (Rs 2.39 billion), Tata Communications (Rs 2.12 billion) and Verizon Communications India (Rs 2.1 billion).
