As per the latest performance indicator report for the financial year 2023- 24 (FY24), released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), telecom operator’s adjust gross revenue (AGR) grew by 8.24 per cent to Rs 2.7 trillion in 2023- 24 as compared to Rs 2.49 trillion in 2022- 23.

As per the report, Reliance Jio posted the highest AGR of Rs 978.6 billion, an increase of 9.62 per cent, from Rs 892.7 billion in the year-ago period. Bharti Airtel AGR grew by 12.12 per cent to Rs 805.2 billion. Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) posted an AGR of Rs 296.05 billion, BSNL Rs 80.19 billion, Tata Rs 25.33 billion, MTNL Rs 6.10 billion and Reliance Communications Rs 1.85 billion.

Further, the government’s share of revenue in the form of license fee increased by 8.45 per cent from Rs 199.54 billion to Rs 216.42 billion. The collection from spectrum usage charges, however, fell by 32.2 per cent from Rs 49.68 billion in FY23 to Rs 33.69 billion in FY24.

Furthermore, the share of public sector undertakings’ (PSUs) in the Access AGR of telecom services also fell to 6.64 per cent for the year 2023-24 compared to 7.04 per cent in the previous year.
