The global uptake of long term evolution (LTE)-advanced networks is expected to register substantial growth.

According to ABI Research, telecom operators based in Asia-Pacific, Western Europe and North America have chalked out plans to upgrade their LTE networks to LTE-Advanced networks.

Overall, over 29 global telecom players are looking to deploy these networks by the third quarter of 2013.

In so far, the research firm points out that the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 47 per cent of all global TD-LTE concluded contracts awarded to vendors so far. The Middle East follows, at 18 per cent.
