The Ministry of Communications has sanctioned the installation of 392 mobile towers of various telecom operators in Tripura.
The move comes after a long stretch of east and south-eastern parts of Tripura were not receiving telecom services due to the unavailability of mobile network owing to their proximity with Bangladesh.
The ministry recently conducted a survey, which revealed poor telecom infrastructure in some parts of Tripura. Based on the report, the ministry has now sanctioned installation of towers in bordering village areas of Tripura.
