TCS has reportedly split its AI.Cloud business into two distinct verticals to tap into greater market opportunities. One unit will now focus solely on artificial intelligence (AI) and data, while the other will handle the company’s cloud operations.

The AI.Cloud business, launched two years ago, has grown faster than the TCS average, prompting the company to increase its focus. According to, Siva Ganesan, now global head of the new AI Data unit, AI is becoming increasingly central and will only grow in relevance. The AI unit will act as a central hub for all AI initiatives. Ganesan previously led the AI.Cloud unit. Meawhile, Krishna Mohan, now heads the cloud unit. Ashok Krish is global head of AI, and Satish Byravan leads the data unit.

Moreover, TCS is hiring skilled AI professionals and updating internal training to build expertise.  Since data and AI are closely linked, data has been included in the AI unit. Further, TCS aims to support clients whose data systems are not ready for AI through integrated services.
