
Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL), operating under the Tata Indicom brand, is planning to expand its infrastructure in the east to support the huge expansion of its customer base there. It has earmarked a total of Rs 800-Rs 900 million by June 2006 for installing new switches in order to spruce up the connection capacity. Five new switches, to be supplied by Ericsson, are in the process of installation. The switches will have a capacity of 300,000 lines and will help the company overcome connectivity problems in certain pockets of Kolkata circle.
