Tata Teleservices Limited, under its brand name Tata DOCOMO, has launched mobile handset protection service called ?SimplySwap?, for its postpaid customers in Hyderabad. This service allows its subscribers to swap their handset with a ?like for like? mobile handset. The move is in line with the company?s strategy to deliver long-term value to its customers.
Under this service, any new or existing postpaid subscriber who has recently bought a new handset can enroll for the programme by filling up a form at the company?s stores. Upon enrolling, the subscriber can call and request for a handset swap and the phone will be delivered within 48-72 hours. All swapped mobile handsets will carry a warranty of six months.
The handset is swapped for a nominal replacement fee. There is also a monthly fee that is included in customer?s regular bill. The charges vary according to the type of device and start from a monthly fee as low as Rs 89 with a corresponding swap fee of Rs 400. The swap can be made twice in rolling 12 month period.
