The government has given Tata Communications the green signal to acquire Sri Lanka-based Suntel.
Tata Communications had submitted the bid last month and has been in advanced negotiations with Suntel. According to reports, the acquisition will be routed through the company?s wholly-owned subsidiary Tata Communications Lanka as the operator intends to enter the outbound voice traffic and data business. It is also looking to foray into the enterprise business in Sri Lanka.
