Taiwan-based telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom is planning to team up with China Telecom and China Netcom to provide 3G services once the latter obtains the required licences. The company has started lobbying with the Taiwanese government to amend the regulations banning local telecom companies from investing in or providing services in the Chinese telecom industry.
Chunghwa Telecom is also considering investing in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia.
