Taiwan-based Chunghwa Telecom is planning to increase its capital expenditure to over NT $30 billion in 2010, mainly to expand its optic fibre networks. Towards this end, the company will be investing about NT $13.5 billion in 2010, against NT $12 billion in 2009. Chunghwa expects the number of its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH)/building subscribers to reach 2.35 million by end-2010, accounting for about 60 per cent of its fixed line broadband internet access users.
