Sterlite Technologies Limited has formed a joint venture (JV) with Brazil-based Conduspar Condutores Eletricos Limited, which provides copper and aluminum cables in Latin America.
The 50-50 JV will include a greenfield facility in Curitiba, Brazil which will be used for manufacturing optical fiber cables for the Latin American markets.
The JV is expected to start commercial production of copper and aluminum cables by the first quarter of 2015.
