OneOTT Intertainment Limited (OIL), the broadband vertical of Hinduja Global Solutions Limited, part of the Hinduja Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the State Transformation Commission, government of Uttar Pradesh (UP), for the rollout of project Government Assisted Network for Growth and Advancement (GANGA), a large-scale digital inclusion initiative in the state.
Project GANGA is focused on empowering youth, enabling 8,000-10,000 local entrepreneurs at the nyaya panchayat level to operate as independent digital service providers (DSPs) providing high speed broadband access across UP. The initiative, which is expected to include a significant number of women entrepreneurs will connect over two million households in the next 2-3 years and generate direct and indirect employment for more than 100,000 individuals. It will boost the governments initiatives of expanding digital education and healthcare. DSPs will receive structured support including training, financing assistance, network build-out and technology enablement.
Commenting on the collaboration, chief executive officer (CEO), STC, said, “Project GANGA is a significant step toward expanding inclusive digital infrastructure in UP. The initiative aligns with the government of UP’s digital vision to improve access to digital education, healthcare and government services, while enabling micro, small and medium sized enterprises and enterprises with reliable, high-speed connectivity. By empowering local entrepreneurs, the program will strengthen service delivery and ensure affordable digital access for underserved communities.”
Meanwhile, whole-time director, HGS and managing director and CEO, OIL, said, “This initiative reflects our long-term commitment to enabling digital access and economic opportunity at scale. Project GANGA is structured as a multi-year program focused on entrepreneur onboarding, network deployment and workforce development.”
