Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) has approached the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for obtaining a unified licence.
The operator has completed the entire process of seeking a unified licence but it is yet to hear from the DoT. In the spectrum auction held in March 2013, SSTL won 3.75 MHz of CDMA spectrum in eight circles. Meanwhile, on August 19, 2013, DoT released the guidelines for the new Unified licence regime under which no new licences will be issued under the older regime. SSTL, therefore, has requested DoT to allow it to migrate to the new licencing regime.
