SSTL lowers prices of data service devices by at 33 per cent

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL), under its brand name MTS, has lowered of the prices of its data offerings by about 33 per cent.

The company has reduced the price of its MBlaze Ultra Wi-Fi dongle for its postpaid customers, from Rs 1,499 to Rs 999. The dongle will offer a broadband speed of up to 9.8 Mbps. SSTL has also reduced the price of its MBlaze Ultra Wi-Fi dongle for new customers from Rs 2,299 to Rs 1,749. The device comes bundled with 10 GB mobile broadband data limit.

For prepaid customers, SSTL has announced new scheme to offer 5 GB and 7 GB of mobile broadband usage for Rs 499 and Rs 699 respectively. Earlier, the company had a scheme under which it offered 4 GB and 8 GB of mobile broadband usage for Rs 599 and Rs 798 respectively. For post-paid customers, SSTL has reduced the monthly price of 10 GB mobile broadband usage capacity from Rs 875 to Rs 550 and launched a new scheme which allows for 14 GB of mobile broadband data usage.

SSTL is planning to continue with these rates up till December 2014, after which the company may reevaluate the prices.
