According to a report by Space Capital, investments in space startups have stayed dormant in the second quarter of 2023, showing a positive sign for the sector that faced a funding slump in the past few quarters due to the grim economic outlook. There was an investment of $6 billion in 91 firms in the April-June quarter, in comparison to the $2.2 billion growth in the January-March quarter and $5.9 billion before that.

As per the report, there has been an improvement from declines of 53 per cent and 52 per cent in the first quarter and 2022. The 41 per cent figure is lower than the period a year ago, considering the $8.2 billion investments spread across 183 companies in the first half of 2023.
