Sony Ericsson plans to manufacture mobile phones in India through manufacturing agreements with Flextronics and Foxconn. The company intends to procure 10 million handsets per annum from these two manufacturers by 2009. Meanwhile, Russia’s private sector consumer services company AFK Sistema is also targeting setting up a base for manufacturing telecom equipment in India.
