
Sistema Shyam TeleServices has launched operations in the Tamil Nadu and Kerala circles. In Tamil Nadu, the company will initially offer services in 373 towns and later extend services to 500 more towns in a phased manner. In Kerala, the service will initially be made available in six districts of the state. MTS will be present in 300 towns by end-June 2009 and in 400 towns by July 2009. The operator is planning to invest around $5.56 billion for launching pan-Indian services. Meanwhile, Sistema Shyam has entered into an outsourcing agreement with Hinduja Global Solutions. Under the partnership, Hinduja Global Solutions will manage the customer care operations of Sistema Shyam TeleServices’ CDMA brand MTS. Hinduja’s customer care centre in Chennai will cater to MTS’s prepaid customers in both Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
