Sanyo Electric is negotiating with Japanese electronics manufacturer Kyocera Wireless to sell its loss-making cellular phone business. For Kyocera, the deal makes sense as Sanyo’s expertise in technology and distribution will significantly strengthen its mobile phone business. Sanyo recently sold its mobile phone sales and distribution unit to Japanese retailer Telepark Corporation in a deal reportedly worth $85 million.
