Kenyan mobile operator Safaricom has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to deploy the subscriber data management (SDM) platform. The deployment is part of Safaricom’s transition to an all-internet protocol (IP) network. NSN’s scope of delivery includes the One-NDS real-time subscriber data repository for the consolidation of subscriber data from multiple applications. After the consolidation, the vendor will substitute the existing home location registers with new data-less NT-HLR front-ends. The telecom equipment manufacturer will also enhance Safaricom’s network management system, and provide integration and consulting services.
