Research in Motion Limited (RIM) has made two new appointments for its marketing department. The role of marketing chief would be taken by Frank Boulben, who most recently was in charge of marketing and sales for LightSquared. As marketing chief, Boulben is going to be responsible for reinventing the BlackBerry brand.

Kristian Tear, a former executive vice president at Sony Mobile Communications has been appointed as chief operating officer (COO).  He will be responsible for managing the logistics of the BlackBerry 10 launch. As COO, Tear will oversee all the operational functions for handhelds and services, including research and development, global sales, manufacturing and supply chain management.
