
According to the market research firm Gartner, the revenue from public cloud services in India are expected to witness an increase of 33 per cent from $632 million in 2014 to $838 million by end-2015. The firm has added that the spending on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is expected to increase by 38 per cent year-on-year to reach $104.8 million in 2015. Further, the spending on cloud management and security, and Platform as a Service (PaaS) will grow to reach $56.7 million and $84.6 million, respectively during the same period.
Gartner has predicted that the high rates of spending on cloud services in India will continue and the market is expected to reach $1.9 billion by 2018.
Meanwhile, according to Gartner?s cloud adoption survey, 53 per cent of organisations in India indicate they are currently using cloud services, with another 43 per cent indicating plans to begin using cloud services in the next one year.
