
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has reportedly awarded contract to IBM for providing IT services. The contract is valued at $250-350 million and has a clause that allows for expansion of the scope of the work.
Recently, RJIL had also awarded a contract to Nokia Networks to provide security solutions for its telecom network. Meanwhile, the company has appointed Samsung as its main technology partner for rolling out 4G network in the country.
Currently, RJIL holds panIndian spectrum in the 2300MHz band. It is likely to start 4G trials from October 2014 and has shortlisted 1,200 cities for the launch of 4G services in 2015. Apart from this, RJIL has also acquired spectrum in the 1800 MHz band in the February spectrum auctions.
