BSNL has shortlisted four companies –?Teracom, Tech Solutions,Adishwar India and Ampoules and Auto –? for its Wi-Max franchise. The bidding norms required these companies to be registered in the country for more than two years with a minimum turnover of Rs 1 billion in each of the last two years, or to be a Wi-Max operator in a foreign country. In case the bidder was a foreign operator, it was required to submit an undertaking that it would register a wholly owned company in India within a month of signing the letter of intent with BSNL. This was in addition to the compliance with foreign direct investment and other applicable norms.
