
Reliance Communications (RCOM) has unveiled 3G services in Punjab. With this launch, the operator will offer 3G services to customers in Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Bhatinda.
RCOM plans to launch 3G services across all 13 circles, where it holds 3G licences, by the end of 2010-11. The company is targeting a national footprint in 3G services through associations with other 3G licensees in the remaining nine telecom circles during the next year.
According to Sabyasachi Chakraborty, circle head, wireless business, Punjab, RCOM, this launch is an integral part of the company?s Vision 2015 of creating a wirefree Punjab built on the ‘3G for all’ platform.
RCOM?s 3G network has been designed to offer blanket coverage in every town and provide maximum download speeds upto 28 Mbps with minimum latency. The operator currently offers services such as video calling, mobile TV, video streaming, etc.
