Bharti Airtel has announced the stepping down of its non-executive, non-independent director, Rashed Fahad Al-Noaimi, from the company’s board of directors, with effect from November 22, 2017. The move follows the open market sale of 5 per cent stake by the Qatar Foundation in Airtel for Rs 96 billion. Currently, Al-Noaimi is the chief executive officer (CEO) of investments at the Qatar Foundation. He is responsible for managing the Qatar Foundation’s investment portfolios and framing long-term investment policies that include the Qatar Foundation Endowment, Qatar Foundation Investments, as well as the organisation’s other joint ventures and initiatives.
