Qualcomm is reportedly moving to localise automotive module production in India, supporting top-tier ecosystem partners in shifting manufacturing into the country. The company said it is investing significantly to aid local automotive firms, with a strong focus on chipsets for electric and connected vehicles.

Its Snapdragon Elite chipset platform supports telematics, infotainment, and driver assistance, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Qualcomm expects that by 2026, around a dozen vehicles will deploy its Snapdragon Cockpit Elite and Snapdragon Ride Elite SoCs, which were announced in October 2024 and delivered to customers in early 2025.

The company further noted that India’s substantial base of domestic and global automakers manufacturing locally offers a competitive edge, similar to the benefits seen in China.
