Polycab India has won two contracts, cumulatively valued at Rs 56.49 billion (inclusive of GST), from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the deployment of a middle-mile network for BharatNet under various packages.

The first contract which is worth Rs 15.49 billion involves development, upgradation, and operation along with maintenance of the middle-mile network for BharatNet on design build operate and maintain (DBOM) model – Package 7 (Bihar). The company will get three years for construction and 10 years of maintenance contract. For the first five years, the maintenance contract will be provided to the company at 5.5 per cent per annum of capital expenditure per year and at 6.5 per cent per year for the next five years.

The second order worth Rs 40.99 billion involves the creation, upgradation, operation and maintenance of the middle mile network of Bharat Net on DBOM model – Package 4 in Karnataka, Goa and Puducherry. The contract conditions remain the same.
