Subramanian Swamy, president of the Janata Party has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation?s (CBI) special trial court to make Home Minister P. Chidambaram a co-accused in the 2G spectrum allocation case.

Swamy said that subsequent to a statement by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the Parliament, it was already known that A. Raja, former Minister of Telecommunications and IT, was not the only individual responsible for allocating spectrum.

Also, it was revealed that all decisions pertaining to spectrum allocation were taken by the Cabinet and Chidambaram, who was the Minister of Finance at the time, and Raja were party to it.

In his application, Swamy said, “They decided that both the entry fee and price of spectrum should be grouped together at the 2001 level and decided against the market price of 2007-08 for the entry fee. This is confirmed by the Prime Minister?s speech. “Hence, I moved a fresh plea for summoning witnesses, including myself, and to make Chidambaram a co-accused in the case.?
