A. Raja, former Minister of Telecommunications and IT, reportedly plans to file a public interest litigation (PIL) against Vinod Rai, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).

Raja has alleged that Rai used unscientific methodologies to calculate the losses caused by 2G spectrum allocation.

Raja?s PIL would reportedly point out that the CAG’s calculation of the estimated losses were first pegged at Rs 26.45 billion and then Rs 4.19 trillion, before arriving at the Rs 1.76 trillion figure in the final report.

Raja plans to point out that the CAG had failed to explain before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) examining the case on why it settled on the Rs 1.76 trillion figure when its members had come up with several other projections.
