Second-placed operator KDDI has announced that it has signed up 348,300 subscribers, taking its total subscriber base to over 21.5 million. Meanwhile, Vodafone Japan lost 173,100 GSM subscribers in December, but gained 236,800 WCDMA subscribers to take its total subscriber base to over 15.1 million as of end-December 2005.
