Indonesian regulator Postel will open a tender for 3G licences in January. Postel will announce the results of the tender for spectrum in the 1940-1955 MHz and 2130-2145 MHz bands on February 8. Indonesia’s leading operator and GSM player Telkomsel, second-placed GSM rival Indosat and third-placed operator Excelcomindo, which also operates GSM services, are all expected to participate in the procedure. The 3G tender procedure was reportedly delayed because the preparation of tender documents fell behind schedule.
