NSN has received an order to modernise and upgrade Qatar Telecom’s 3G network. According to the contract signed between the two sides, NSN is to supply base stations and backhaul technology to increase Qatar Telecom’s 3G network capacity and enable a smooth transition to faster technologies like HSPA+ and long term evolution (LTE). Further, NSN has to provide management systems to optimise the operator’s network and to operate it under an already existing managed services contract.
Financial details of the contract have not been disclosed.
