
Nokia Networks has been awarded a contract by Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) to provide security solutions for its telecom network. The company has also secured a contract for network expansion from Uninor. Under the contract, Nokia will provide radio access equipment and operational and maintenance services to Uninor Assam. The deal is part of the network expansion plans of Uninor to install 5,000 base transceiver stations in 2014.
Nokia has bagged 10 other deals from various telecom operators. Idea Cellular had recently awarded 2G/3G network upgradation contract for three years to Nokia. Early in 2014, Airtel had extended a customer experience management contract for its Manesar plant.
At present, Nokia is working with Bharti Airtel in eight out of 22 circles in India, in 19 with Vodafone and about 6-7 circles with Idea Cellular, Tata Teleservices Limited, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Uninor and Videocon Telecom.
