Nokia has unveiled a manufacturing facility for 5G receivers, Wi-Fi routers and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) termination devices, and expects to ship nearly 10 million devices every year.

The fixed network product line will be commercially manufactured in a collaboration with Dixon Technologies at its Noida electronics production plant. It aims to create around 3,000 direct jobs.

This announcement follows the alliance that Nokia and Dixon Technologies entered into in May. According to Nokia, it is open to expand partnerships in future. It is presently focusing on local production of optical network terminals with Wi-Fi capabilities and fixed wireless access (FWA) products that includes 5G outdoor receivers, in-home Wi-Fi routers and FTTH termination devices.
