Nokia and Siemens’ planned merger to create Nokia-Siemens Networks is expected to be completed during the April-June 2007 quarter. The merged company will focus on low-cost solutions for GSM and Wi-Max operations for rural areas. Its proposed portfolio plan covers the six future business units: radio access, service core applications, operation support systems and internet protocol transport and services.
