
Nitin Mishra has spent over 15 years in Netmagic Solutions, playing a key role in building up the company as a leading domestic player in the cloud services market. During this period, the company has grown from a five-member team (Mishra was one of its first few members) to over 1,000 employees, with eight data centres and over 1,500 enterprise customers. Mishra has held multiple senior positions at Netmagic, in the marketing, solutions engineering and product management functions. He has contributed to the company?s product portfolio, which includes co-location, the private and public cloud and security services.
At present, Mishra is senior vice-president, products and services. His key responsibility is to facilitate revenue growth and profitability of the company?s product lines, and manage product lifecycles, pricing, marketing, strategy and development.
A computer engineer from VJTI Mumbai, Mishra also has a postgraduate diploma in business management from XLRI. In the past, he has worked as product manager for RIM services at HCL and in internet operations at Tata Communications. His most memorable assignment was the creation and go-to-market for Simplicloud, Netmagic?s public cloud platform. ?Being a part of the evolution of this product and getting customers to adopt this new model of service consumption were really exciting and challenging,? he says.
Commenting on the trends in the telecom space, Mishra says that data will take centrestage over the next 12 to 18 months with the anticipated 4G roll-outs. ?Innovative applications like mobile payments, e-commerce and media delivery will drive penetration deeper into the market,? he says. ?Further, with the world?s leading telecom companies now focusing on India, the industry is poised for a technology transformation, starting with the upgradation of existing infrastructure.?
Mishra believes that his ability to understand enterprise customer requirements, identify market and technology trends, and convert these into tangible products are his core strengths. They require analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities. He also believes it is essential to explore new areas to stay ahead.
Reading, travelling and meditation are some of Mishra?s key interests. He also enjoys driving and going on road trips, and has driven as far as Jaisalmer from Mumbai. Mishra also enjoys spending time with his family, comprising his father, a retired doctor, his wife and their two sons.
