MTNL reports a 26 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2005

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has reported a 26 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. The net profit has come down to Rs 1.7 billion from Rs 2.3 billion during the quarter ended June 30, 2004. MTNL also saw a 9.2 per cent decline in its income from services, which stood at Rs 12.6 billion during the quarter under review. Its revenues from mobile services, however, increased by 100.19 per cent to Rs 1 billion during this period.
